Website Operations Internship

Job Description
Deliver exciting pro football news into the hands of millions of fans around the world. Learn how to operate a website from a team within the world’s leading sports industry. Gain exceptional experience alongside the Manager of Web Operations by helping to run newyorkjets.com. Help maintain and publish written, photo and multimedia content on a daily basis. Opportunities to assist in various digital or social media responsibilities as needed.

Please note this is a full time seasonal position requiring 40 hours per week including some nights and weekends.

Primary Job Responsibilities
•    Update homepage feature stories and other various pages on a timely basis as content is produced.
•    Organize, edit and post multimedia content (audio, video, photos, etc.) for newyorkjets.com, including but not limited to daily press conferences (streamed live), player interviews, and feature videos.
•    Assist with written content updates of team website on a daily basis, including the posting of press releases, articles, gameday news & notes, documents, forms, fan polls, and other editorial content.
•    Setup, test and manage daily press conferences for streaming on NewYorkJets.com.
•    Update and post gameday content which include Sundays and evenings.
•    Assist with proofing NewYorkJets.com email newsletters, with distribution 1-3 times per week.
•    Post daily press clippings as part of scheduled rotation.
•    Serve as backup role for management of team roster, depth chart, transactions list and other informational team pages and other duties as assigned by the Manager of Web Operations.

Required Abilities/Skills
•    Undergraduate degree (Computer/Information Science, MIS, Web Programming, or Digital Media).
•    Proficient with HTML, CSS, Photoshop (HTML coding without an editor).
•    Excellent computer skills and previous web development experience a plus.
•    Familiarity with audio/video editing software.
•    Availability to make site updates at all hours of the day including weekends/holidays.
•    Excellent communication and proof-reading skills.
•    Active in following new technology trends.
•    Arrange your own transportation

Media Relations Internship

Please note this is a full time seasonal position requiring 40 hours per week including some nights and weekends.

Responsibilities Include
•    Daily Clips
•    Facilitate player interviews
•    Monitor social media, TV and the internet
•    Transcribe press conferences
•    Write press releases
•    Work on weekly game release
•    Updating statistics, notes and bios
•    Write and edit media guide
•    Prepare interview prep for both players and coaches

Requirements Include

Multimedia and Production Part Time Internship

Florham Park, NJ

Responsibilities

· Assist with video production for Jets' television programs and website content
·  Go on location with camera crew – pack and carry bags, run between cameras, assist with anything that helps make the shoot a success.
·  Log and transcribe all footage, including games, practices, interviews
·  Load footage and create projects in Avid editing computers for broadcast editors
·  Research and production planning – topics include: Jets history, current Jets team, NFL topics, NY topics, travel plans for location shoots, etc.

Requirements include
· Eager to learn, quick to take direction and run with a task
·  Hustle and desire to accomplish tasks with speed
·  Comfort in a production setting, ready to be a hands-on Production Assistant
·  Experience with systems such as: PC-based Avid editor, Apple Final Cut editor, and PC-based Windows computers/programs for daily office tasks
·  Must have own vehicle for transportation to office in Florham Park, NJ and all other work locations
·  Must be in 3rd or 4th year of college, majoring in Video/Film Production, Post production, Multimedia, Broadcasting, Writing or similar.

Schedule/Title

Field & Grounds Paid Turf Management Seasonal Internship

Job Description

The New York Jets are at a very exciting time in the organizations history with a state of the art training complex in Florham Park, NJ spanning nearly 27 acres and has three full bluegrass fields and an outside artificial turf as well as a field house. The new complex is located just 25 miles from New York City.

Scope of Responsibilities
The seasonal intern carries out the duties put forth by the Director of Grounds including mowing, watering, fertilizing, painting, snow removal, practice setup and break down and all other duties to assist in practices running smoothly. The internship will run from March 1, 2013 till the end of the 2013 football season. The start date is negotiable based on candidate’s school requirements and availability.

Specific Duties
·  Pictures taken on a weekly basis of all athletic fields.
·  Observe and record root depth on a weekly basis.
·  Calibrate spreader in order to apply fertilizers at their proper rate.
·  Core aerification and harvesting of all athletic fields.
·  Painting athletic fields

Requirements
·  Recent college graduate with education related to turf grass management
·  Ability to lift 50lbs numerous times a day
·  Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends
·  Ability to operate some necessary equipment related to grounds maintenance

Job Description

Specific Duties
·  Weekly reports to the Director of Grounds concerning issues and challenges
·  Ability to work independently in unsupervised conditions

·  Calibrate spreader in order to apply fertilizers at their proper rate.
·  Core aerification, harvesting, and topdressing of all athletic fields.

Requirements
·  Education related to turf grass management
·  Ability to lift 50lbs numerous times a day
·  Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends
·  Ability to operate some necessary equipment related to grounds maintenance
·  Strong work ethic, positive attitude, willingness to accept all assignments, quick learner
·  Attention to detail, proven ability to problem solve and sense of urgency is a must.
·  Arrange their own transportation

This is a paid summer internship beginning June 1, 2013 through training camp ending August 30, 2013 or around schooling schedule. Housing and meals are also provided.

- Design sales proposals, featuring multiple sales packages, including full and half season suites, single event suite opportunities and premium seating (i.e. Green Room)
- Make multiple sales presentations and conduct various tours of the stadium to potential buyers
- Utilize unique experiential resources provided by the NY Jets that will be a great asset in assisting your sales efforts

Required Skills and Experience:
·  5-10 years of experience selling premium suites, tickets and hospitality at a sports team, entertainment venue or live event/concert company is needed to be successful in this role.
·  Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals. Demonstrated ability to close deals is a must.
·  Great rolodex of contacts in the tri-state area!
·  Experience with lead generation and cold calling
·  Proven ability to speak and present products to potential buyers in both large and small groups
·  Knowledge of premium sales and marketing best practices
·  Bachelor’s Degree required.
